Ihle Motorsport in Portugal – June 2025

After a short break, Ihle Motorsport will be back on track in early June, heading to Portugal. From June 5th to 7th 2025, the renowned “Rallyspirit” will take place – an event that combines classic rally cars with both modern and historic special stages.

On board: a very special vehicle, the legendary Audi Coupé quattro, known from the 1980s World Rally Championship. This iconic car was once driven by rally legend Hannu Mikkola during the 1987 Acropolis Rally.

Beneath the classic bodywork lies pure rally technology: all-wheel drive, a powerful five-cylinder engine, and a precision-tuned chassis make the Audi 200 Quattro a still-competitive contender in historic rally events.

We are looking forward to the upcoming event and wish you many unforgettable moments filled with motorsport passion until then!

Ardennes Rally 2025 – A highlight in the heart of Belgium!

The next leg of the season takes the Ihle Motorsport team to the 2025 Ardennes Rallye in Belgium, which takes place from May 2nd to May 3rd, 2025. The Audi A1 R44, which took overall victory in the rally class at the legendary Pikes Peak Hill Climb in 1983 under John Buffum, will give it its all on the challenging tracks in the Ardennes.

Lavanttal Rally 2025 in Austria

The second exciting leg of the season takes the Ihle Motorsport team to picturesque Carinthia from April 10th to 12th, 2025, for the 2025 Lavanttal Rallye. The Opel Manta 200 Group B will once again prove itself there. With its curb weight of just 1,056 kg, it offers a lot of driving fun despite its "only" 186 hp as a rear-wheel drive vehicle.

A very special highlight awaits you on Saturday, April 12th: You have the unique opportunity to ride as a passenger for charity and experience a piece of motorsport history up close!

VW Golf Kleint

The VW Golf GTI 16V type 19E was homologated on March 1st, 1986 with Nr A-5295 in group A. This specific Golf II was constructed by VW Motorsport and first registered after individual approval by the German technical inspection authority TÜV Hanover on February 13rd, 1987 with license plate WOB-DW 87.

VW Golf GTI 16 V

The VW Golf GTI 16V was homologated on March 1st, 1986 with Nr. A-5295 in group A. This specific Golf II was constructed by VW motorsport and was first registered after individual approval by TÜV Hanover on February 23rd, 1988 with license plate WOB-AW 987.

Audi Sport quattro group B

This vehicle is one of only 22 group B competition cars developed by Audi sport and the second one used in a world championship rally. It was homologated on May 1st, 1984 with Nr. B 264. ...

Audi S1

This vehicle is one of only 20 of Audi Sport built competition vehicles in Group B and the first in a World Cup run set up by a total of just eight vehicles used for events. Stig Blomqvist and Bjorn Cederberg went to the Rally Argentina at the end of July 1985.

Audi 80 Group 2

Audi officially entered the World Rally Championship in 1979. This vehicle is one of the four built works wagons of Group 4. It was registered with the license plate IN-NS 23 on 21.02.1979 on the Audi AG and immediately used at the Sachs Winter Rallye.

Opel Manta 400

Opel has first launched the Opel Manta 400 as a rally version with homologation no. B237 at the Corsica Rally 1983. This vehicle is the 16th of a total of 38 built vehicles, carries the internal number RM16 and was used by the Rothmans Opel Rally Team.

Porsche 953

This is the set from the factory Porsche, the Jackie Ickx 1984 at the 6th Paris-Dakar rally contributed. He is one of only three built Porsche 953 and one of the only ten 4-wheel-drive competition vehicles of all types, that Porsche ever built, and the factory has been established.

Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Rallye

This vehicle is the first of 59 vehicles that Porsche launched on 28 February 1981 as a small evolutionary series of pure competition cars after the end of production of the 400 road sports car 924 Carrera GT.

VW G60

The VW Rallye Golf G60 had only a short career in the World Rally Championship. On December 1, 1989 he was under the homologation no. A-5398 homologated in Group A and played as factory only 3 World Cup runs in 1990: Acropolis Rally, Rally New Zealand and Australia Rally.

Audi 200 quattro Gr. A

The Audi 200 quattro was homologated in group A on January 1st, 1987 with Nr. A-5316. After group B was banned at the end of 1986 this model was the choice of Audi Sport for the World Rally Championship in 1987...

Audi A1 R44

The Audi quattro A1 was homologated in group B on January 1st, 1983 with Nr. B-229. This type was the replacement of the Audi quattro group 4 car and was used by Audi Sport for the World Rally Championship from January until May 1987...

Audi Coupé quattro

After the ban of group B cars at the end of 1986 only group A and group N cars were permitted from 1987 in the World Rally Championship. Prerequisite for homologation in both groups was the completion of 5,000 identical street cars.

Opel Ascona 400 RA48

Opel released the Ascona 400 as a homologation special for rallies in September 1979 at the IAA fair in Frankfurt. The name is based on the required quantity of 400 built cars, which was a prerequisite for homologation in Group 4. Homologation was granted with No. 666 on November 1st, 1979, while homologation for Group B was given on November 1st, 1982 with No. B221.

Opel Manta 200

Opel has built beside the well-known Opel Manta 400 another group B rally car. The Manta 200 was designed for private teams. It was homologated on August 1st, 1983 with number B250 in group B. The main difference to the Manta 400 is the waiving of the wing extensions and the 2-liter engine

Opel Manta 400 RM8

The history of the Opel Manta 400 as a rally car started with the Corsica Rally in 1983. The homologation was granted March 1st, 1983 with nr. B237. This specific car has the Matter nr. RM 8 so it is the 8th car of a total of 38 car built.

VW Golf Bimotor

In the first half of the 1980s, Volkswagen Motorsport experimented with vehicles fitted with two engines. First attempts with a VW Jetta and a VW Scirocco were followed by three twin-engine vehicles featuring different technologies for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The first prototype was built with 2 Oettinger 1.8 litre engines and tested on June 20th, 1985 on the Volkswagen test ground in Ehra, just 2 days before the airlift to the United States for the race on July 13th, 1985 in Colorado, USA.
